Job Description

Job Description: 
  • Responsible for routine servicing of forklift truck equipment as needed for production use.
  • Seek out the root causes of equipment problems and implement solutions to eliminate them.
  • Review preventative maintenance procedures and recommend improvements to address any shortcomings.
  • Use the Maintenance Department work order system to identify tasks, accurately record parts used, log time required, and document completed work.
  • Implement equipment modifications to improve performance as directed by management.
  • Properly use and maintain all tools normally associated with this job.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards for all maintenance jobs and work areas:
    • Clean work area after repairs, preventative maintenance, or projects.
    • Clean shop area when work is complete.
    • Maintain a clean and organized cart.
    • Maintain tool inventory (6-month PM).
    • Return shop equipment to its original location and report any issues.
  • Follow all company rules and regulations.
  • Perform any other necessary job duties.

Requirements:
  • Requires at least two years’ experience forklift repairs or automobile mechanics.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit for duty.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Dependable and able to maintain the attendance required to perform the job.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and fully understand: SOPs, SDSs, labeling, safety and health regulations, and procedures within the job, this job group and the plant.
  • Ability to operate computerized equipment, read scales, recognize product problems, malfunctions and patterns out of specification.
  • Good human relations skills and a practical approach to problem solving are necessary.
  • In addition, the following qualifications are essential for this position: the ability to work independently; excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to quickly isolate problems and repair equipment with minimum downtime; willingness to work flexible hours as needed; must be available for any shift or time needed.

Job Details:
  • Monday - Friday
  • 7am - 4pm
  • $25.00 based on experience
  • The job is in a dusty and dirty environment.
  • Working in a hot and/or cold environment.
  • Required to wear respirator, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
