Responsible for routine servicing of forklift truck equipment as needed for production use.
Seek out the root causes of equipment problems and implement solutions to eliminate them.
Review preventative maintenance procedures and recommend improvements to address any shortcomings.
Use the Maintenance Department work order system to identify tasks, accurately record parts used, log time required, and document completed work.
Implement equipment modifications to improve performance as directed by management.

Maintain high housekeeping standards for all maintenance jobs and work areas:
Clean work area after repairs, preventative maintenance, or projects.
Clean shop area when work is complete.
Maintain a clean and organized cart.
Maintain tool inventory (6-month PM).
Return shop equipment to its original location and report any issues.
Follow all company rules and regulations.
Perform any other necessary job duties.
Requirements:
Requires at least two years’ experience forklift repairs or automobile mechanics.
Must be physically and mentally fit for duty.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Dependable and able to maintain the attendance required to perform the job.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and fully understand: SOPs, SDSs, labeling, safety and health regulations, and procedures within the job, this job group and the plant.
Ability to operate computerized equipment, read scales, recognize product problems, malfunctions and patterns out of specification.
Good human relations skills and a practical approach to problem solving are necessary.
In addition, the following qualifications are essential for this position: the ability to work independently; excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to quickly isolate problems and repair equipment with minimum downtime; willingness to work flexible hours as needed; must be available for any shift or time needed.
