We are seeking a self-driven Lead Shop Mechanic to manage the daily operations of our landscaping repair shop. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical expertise, leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to keeping our fleet running efficiently.
Job Details
Monday - Friday
Pay: $50,000 - $55,000 annually based on experience and skills
7:00am until the work is complete
Job Duties
Supervise and assign work to shop mechanics
Diagnose and repair small engine, gas, and diesel equipment
Respond to field breakdowns when necessary
Coordinate major truck repairs and warranty work with vendors
Maintain accurate records and process maintenance invoices
Order and manage inventory of parts and tools
Provide training and guidance to team members as needed
Ensure a safe and compliant work environment
Troubleshoot and repair wiring and electrical issues in landscaping equipment
Operate necessary tools and equipment to complete repairs
Lead others while being hands on repairing small engine equipment as well as our fleet of trucks and trailers.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, parts diagrams, and safety procedures
Experience with electrical systems, small engines, and diesel equipment
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Previous professional landscape experience required
